Just for Kids

Hi kids! So are you ready for your first visit to the dentist? Today's visit to our dental office will be an interesting and exciting adventure. We'll show you all sorts of high-tech equipment and we'll learn how to properly brush and floss so you can practice at home.

But first answer this: How many teeth do you have? I bet you don't know! Well we'll count them soon and find out, and we'll show you how you can have a great smile!

Now let's check in with my friend Barney, and see what he and his friends are up to...

Just like a policeman has a uniform, and a fireman wears a coat and special hat, here in the dental office we wear special clothes too. We wear glasses, masks, and gloves, our dental uniform, and if you grow up to be a dentist, you'll wear them too just like these kids (who are pretending to be dentists) are doing!

When you get ready to go to your dentist, just remember that it's your job to listen closely, follow instructions, and remember a trip to the dentist can be fun!

Here is how we brush!

Use an up and down motion to brush your teeth, just like the pretend dentist is doing for Mr. Horse. It will make your smile clean and bright! How many teeth do you think Mr. Horse has? Take a guess, then count your teeth and see how many you have!

Here is how we Floss!

Run the Dental floss string back and forth between your teeth, just like the pretend dentist is doing for Mr. Horse. Flossing helps to get the particles of food out from between your teeth so that your teeth stay healthy and cavity free.
